Vivencias de OcioA collection of photographs that seeks to capture various moments of rest and entertainment framing the youthful experience. Through a natural and authentic lens, these images reveal the purest essence of enjoyment, whether through dance, encounter, relaxation, or simply pausing for a moment. In each snapshot, the beauty of youth in its most genuine state is captured, celebrating the joy and spontaneity of fully embracing the present moment.
What do you find in your artistic vision?
I feel that my photography is largely based on the genuine capture of moments. Often, I find myself with my eye to the viewfinder for several minutes, waiting for a laugh or an expression that serves as a tool to capture a moment.
What do the colors in your photography represent?
Colors generally reflect the emotions conveyed in my photos.
I tend to use warm and earthy tones more often. I feel that these palettes
better represent the moments I seek to capture.
In Vivencias de Ocio you talk about spaces of enjoyment when portraying youth. Which space do you feel is yours?
There are two main spaces inhabited by the protagonists: nature and the night. I believe one can better represent reflection and the other expression. These are two spaces I enjoy.
How would you like the audience to view your work?
I think what I appreciate most about my work is its genuineness. What was captured evokes real emotions, thoughts, and stories.
How do you navigate being an emerging artist in the country/city where you live?
I find it hard to embrace the title of artist, even though I greatly enjoy producing art. My approach to art stems from a rather utilitarian need to capture moments for memory. Through film, I discovered a range of possibilities and ways to adjust what one wants to express through what is captured and the effect it has on the viewer.
I think this made me realize that what I was doing was indeed art.
How would you create a community of artists?
With a lot of openness.
Creating spaces to exhibit what unites us
Current exhibit.
