INTERVIEW

What do you find in your photography?

Photography serves as a record of my emotions, almost like a diary: I love revisiting photos over the years and seeing how I've changed through the art I create. Each image reflects not only a specific moment in time but also my perspective and emotional state at that instant. By focusing mainly on street photography, it's always a good exercise in observation and appreciation for the details present in the mundane. Besides documenting my personal evolution, photography also helps me discover and appreciate the beauty in the everyday aspects of urban life.
How do you navigate your artistic vision?

I navigate my artistic vision through the analog medium, whose unique characteristics are reflected in the type of images I enjoy capturing. I focus on the spontaneity and rawness of fleeting moments in everyday life, featuring ordinary subjects. Additionally, I draw much inspiration from cinema and its language, so I consider each photo as a snippet of a scene, with its own plot and conflict, thereby creating a visual narrative in every shot.

What questions arise when portraying youth?

How does identity manifest in young people? What role do rebellion and conformity play in youth? Is there truly a universal concept of youth, or does it depend on the context in which it is being considered? What approaches can be used to avoid stereotypical images and to show genuine and natural representation?

How does youth relate to the concept of "Pairs" in your composition?

With the focus on a couple of individuals in their various iterations, "Pairs" portrays the ups and downs of friendship. Euphoria, conflict, trust, love the emotions that come with unconditional commitment to another, necessary for forging a lasting bond. From my perspective, the concept of youth is linked to an undeniable passion total devotion, living emotions to the fullest. In Pares, I wanted to explore how this feeling manifests in interpersonal relationships, where one can see oneself reflected (even complemented) by the people they love.

How do you navigate being an emerging artist in the city/country where you reside?

The vibrant and diverse atmosphere of Buenos Aires  where a large artistic community thrives, offering a variety of spaces and opportunities for developing artists encourages exploration and creative leisure, two essential conditions for any emerging artist. Furthermore, current digital media facilitate the exchange of content and art with any place in the world, allowing me to transcend geographical and cultural limitations. I don't feel confined by my context; on the contrary, this global connection broadens my horizons and enriches my artistic practice. Additionally, the beauty of the Argentine landscape, especially the Patagonian region, is a constant source of inspiration in my photography.

How would you create a community of artists?

Creating a community of artists involves recognizing that art tends to emerge organically; it's not something that can be forced. The essential aspect is facilitating connections among artists who share the same passion. This approach is precisely what Archivium is achieving, providing a space where artists can meet, collaborate, and mutually inspire each other. This allows creative relationships to develop naturally and authentically.
