Lo que me inspira en la fotografía es la reducción de las impresiones del entorno a una sola sección de imagen. Al hacer esta reducción, es posible representar una determinada narrativa con detalle y profundidad, yendo mucho más allá de la representación visual.
What inspires me is reducing the prints among an only image selection. Defining only a limited number of prints, I’m able to represent a narrative with detail and precision , allowing a further vision on the visual representations.
¿De qué manera asocias la palabra “Juventud”?
La juventud no es sólo un proceso o una determinada etapa de la vida, para mí es también un estado mental, lo que significa que la juventud no tiene un principio y un final claros, sino que puede aparecer en diferentes momentos de la vida.
In what way do you think about the word ‘Youth’?
Youth is not only a process or a certain epoque in lifetime. Youth is a mental state, which means that it does not have a starting point or an end. It can appear in different moments of your life.
Me refiero a las diferentes dinámicas dentro de los distintos grupos de jóvenes. Sobre todo, los habitantes de zonas rurales y ciudades pequeñas acuden en masa a Berlín. Los jóvenes berlineses, en cambio, suelen salir de la ciudad, y es en este contexto, como en el pequeño festival en torno a Berlín que se muestra aquí, donde tienen lugar los momentos de libertad y unión sin complicaciones. Quizá sea el contraste entre la búsqueda de la aventura y la búsqueda de la tranquilidad.
In your composition, you talk about young people who want to go to the city but still they find their space in the countryside. How does both work as a gathering space?
I'm referring to the different dynamics within various groups of young people. Especially, residents of rural areas and small towns flock to Berlin in large numbers. Berlin's youth, on the other hand, often leave the city, and it's in this context, like at the small festival around Berlin depicted here, where moments of freedom and uncomplicated unity take place. Perhaps it's the contrast between the pursuit of adventure and the pursuit of tranquility.
¿De qué manera te gustaría que el público viese tu trabajo?
Eso no me corresponde a mí determinarlo. Capto momentos en mi entorno y en mis viajes. La forma en que se perciben depende de cada espectador individual.
Tanto Berlín como París son lugares donde, en principio, este interés no tiene límites. Tal vez incluso, al contrario, la cantidad de la producción artística que te rodea puede inhibirte o, al menos, dificultar tu propia orientación.
How would you like the public to perceive your work?
That's not for me to determine. I capture moments in my surroundings and during my travels. How they are perceived depends on each individual viewer. Both Berlin and Paris are places where, in principle, this interest knows no bounds. Perhaps, on the contrary, the abundance of artistic production surrounding you might inhibit or at least complicate your own orientation.
No creo que deba haber directrices. En los tiempos que corren, las posibilidades de poner en red a la gente son inmensas y, por tanto, también representan un potencial sin precedentes para el intercambio artístico.
Veo proyectos emergentes como una forma muy interesante de conectar a jóvenes y artistas en particular y explorar experiencias compartidas y diferentes. Creo que el potencial de las redes mundiales, en particular, abre innumerables puertas al intercambio artístico y a la inspiración.
I don't believe there should be any guidelines. In today's times, the possibilities for networking are immense and, therefore, they also represent an unprecedented potential for artistic exchange.
I see emergent projects as a very interesting way to connect young people and artists in particular, and to explore shared and different experiences. I think the potential of global networks, in particular, opens countless doors to artistic exchange and inspiration.
